Kelley O’Grady is a results-driven Human Resources and Talent Strategy professional who brings 18 years of expertise to the Assemble HR team. She leads client strategy engagements, coaches leaders to success, and facilitates impactful and interactive learning experiences.
Kelley is adept at building cross-functional relationships to influence and drive positive change for her client teams through her optimism, reliability, and empathy. She is deeply experienced in employee relations, organizational development, performance management, recruitment, investigations, and internal communications. She has a unique ability to quickly build trust, understand her client’s needs, and deliver at a high level.
Kelley grew her career at Macy’s, where she held various roles throughout Human Resources. Kelley started as a Training Specialist who delivered both technical and soft skill classes and managed the executive training program for Private Brands. She was quickly promoted to the College Relations Manager role, where she led full-cycle college recruitment strategies for Private Brands Executive Development Programs & Summer Internship. Kelley was responsible for overseeing all campus activities, on-site assessments, and on-boarding for approximately 100 full-time & intern hires per year.
Kelley was then promoted to HR Business Partner and later Senior HR Business Partner and launched a new division at Macy’s called the Macy’s Home Store. In these roles, Kelley was a partner to senior leadership and provided executive and leadership coaching. She addressed talent management and organizational development needs and influenced the people and talent strategies up, down, and across. After five years, Kelley was promoted to Director, Human Resources for Macy’s Field Planning organization totaling 385 employees. Kelley directed talent-related initiatives such as reorganizations, employee engagement, culture development, and succession management. After five years and the arrival of her second baby, Kelley moved into a Consultant role for special projects at Macy’s. Kelley provided strategic HR support acting as a team mentor for employee relations matters at Macy’s and Blue Mercury. She produced internal communications for several reorganizations and developed change management tools and resources to ensure organizational effectiveness.
Kelley earned her Bachelor of Science in Communication from Miami University in Ohio. She loves to cook, sing, dance, and run on the town’s trails. Kelley has two amazing children, an awesome husband, a one-year-old mini Bernedoodle fluffball, and the most supportive family and friends.
