Meet Julia Budnick
HRBP, Executive Coach & Talent Strategist
With nearly two decades of experience in talent strategy, leadership coaching, organizational development, and human resources, Julia partners with executives and leadership teams to navigate complex people and organizational challenges and make smarter decisions that move the business forward.
At Assemble, Julia works one-on-one with executives, emerging C-suite leaders, and middle managers, helping them become more effective leaders, navigate transitions, and step successfully into bigger roles. She also designs and facilitates offsites for intact and cross-functional teams, supports organizations through change, and serves as a fractional strategic HR business partner to leaders and growing companies.
Julia is known for being a practical, no-BS talent advisor who can simplify complexity and help leaders get to the heart of an issue quickly. As a trusted confidante, she creates space for leaders to think candidly about the challenges they’re facing while also pushing them toward clear decisions and action. Her approach combines deep expertise in talent and organizational strategy with an understanding of the realities leaders face in running a business and leading people.
Prior to Assemble, Julia held senior People and HR roles across technology, financial services, consumer goods, and HR technology, including at HubSpot, LinkedIn, Namely, AB InBev, OnDeck Capital, Deutsche Bank, and Credit Suisse. Most recently, she served as Principal People Business Partner at HubSpot, supporting the Senior Vice President of North America Sales and approximately 1,200 employees across the Go-To-Market organization. Throughout her career, her work has spanned organizational design and change, talent and succession strategy, performance management, leadership development, and executive coaching.
Julia holds an M.A. in Industrial & Labor Relations from Cornell University and a B.S. in Psychology, with a minor in Writing & Rhetoric, from Trinity College. She is an executive coach and holds certifications in Fierce Conversations, MindGym facilitation, and the Predictive Index.
Julia lives in Westport, Connecticut, with her husband, two active boys, and their dog. Outside of work, she loves family travel (and planning trips down to the last detail), finding great food wherever she goes, and playing tennis. She’s also an avid runner who has completed two marathons and twelve half marathons.
